GAP Membership Dinner Meeting
"Town Hall" meeting - no speaker

Instead, we will open the floor to discussions in a "Town Hall" format, to have the opportunity to share ideas regarding the future of GAP and the paralegal profession.

We especially want to welcome our new and renewing members who joined in January and February (you’ll be the center of attention), so please come out to support this social event…a fun way to meet fellow members. GAP is thus seeking volunteers to participate in this Roundtable event. You will be asked to appear at this 1 hour session and share your knowledge, experience, general tips and tricks of the trade. The students generally want to hear about the day to day responsibilities of paralegals, how to interact with attorneys, how to find their first job, how to work with court staff, etc. as well as how GAP membership can benefit their job search and Paralegal career/professional growth. This is GAP’s Second Annual Paralegal Career Workshop and it is bigger and better than before! This Saturday event consists of two Tracks – one is focused on Job Search, the other on Alternative Careers - and an Ethics session for all. Representatives from Robert Half Legal will be on hand to review resumes and provide career advice. Sheila Karns-Gierek of LexisNexis will provide training on the use of “File & Serve” and Thomas J. Bray of SecureImpact will present to the topic “Electronic Discovery –Today’s Discussion”. Attendees will receive a certificate from LexisNexis for completing the “File & Serve” training, and application has been made to NFPA for 2 hours of CLE credit.
